The Walking dead is a post-apocalyptic comic book series created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore. It began in 2003 and was published by Image Comics, the series ran for a total of 193 issues. The walking dead focuses on Rick Grimes, a deputy who is shot in the line of duty and awakens from a coma in a zombie apocalypse. After joining with some other survivors, he leads them as they struggle to survive. AMC created a television series called The Walking Dead that loosely follows the storylines from the comics.
